I’ve read two books recently, both of them with similar themes, and similar perspectives. One of them I felt was incredibly clear in conveying the Author’s wisdom. The other I felt could be easily taken the wrong way.
The difference between the tone of both books was in how their wisdom was conveyed. One Author used his own experience as an authority on the subject. The other, positioned his own experience as one of many experiences on the subject.
In a word, the difference to me, was humility.
Wisdom without humility, is not wisdom.
“If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.” (James 3:13 NLT)
